*** ABOUT ***

These are skins (likely better than the default ones) that have:

- never been implemented in the game,
- been implemented, but then, removed and replaced by the old one,
- been implemented, removed, and downgraded to a lower quality version

So here are the original works from the artists before they got ripped to lower quality to avoid aditional violations of the q3 SDK license.
To keep UrT game code closed source, the license enforces developers to keep their mod compatible with vanilla q3 (i.e. idtech3).
Higher quality models or textures would make idtech3 crash.


As an example, when designed, the TOD-50 had around 2k textures that would cause idtech3 to crash.
Later, in the 4.3.3 update, the weapon's quality was reduced to keep the game code source closed.
Either keep it closed source and you're stuck with low graphics or go open source and the game could be as pretty as QuakeLive just to give another idtech3 based game.



*** HOW TO USE ***

These skins are publicly found in either the UrT-HD release or earlier 4.2/4.3 versions.

1. Just drag and drop the zzzbetterweapons.pk3 file in your q3ut4 directory
2. You should now be able to see the skins when playing demos / localy / on servers with sv_pure set to 0.
3. Remove the pk3 file from your q3ut4 to be able to join back other servers.
